First of its Kind
The infamous German automaker, Mercedes-Benz has created its first luxury yacht, Edition 1 of Arrow460-Grandturismo, pricing at around $1.7 million. Mercedes-Benz had originally introduced its yacht concept in 2012, and recently showed off the actual product this year at the Monaco Yacht Show.
The company worked alongside the yacht manufacturing company Silver Arrows Marine in order to turn their idea into a reality.
The yacht is reportedly 46 feet and can comfortably accommodate 10 people. In comparison to other yachts, the size of the yacht is on the smaller side. However, it makes up for its size with its unique Mercedes-esque design.
It includes all modern amenities one would expect, including air conditioning, a high-quality surround-sound system, wine storage, icemaker, etc. Its beds and tables are also extendable in order to create more space as needed.
It has large side windows that could retract, and a windscreen that can be raised for its passengers to enjoy the sea. It also has a 960 horsepower, and can travel at a top speed of 40 knots.
It is nicknamed “Silver Arrow of the Seas”, after Mercedes’ 1930s Silver Arrow race car. Silver Arrows Marine will begin producing the Arrow460-Grandturismo in the upcoming months, and will begin delivering during the second half of 2017.
Both companies plan to only build 10 Edition 1 models, and will only sell one yacht to each country. This will make the yacht incredibly rare as well as extremely high-end.
