I’m working on two new novels, says JK Rowling
Harry Potter author JK Rowling has revealed that she is busy writing two new books – one set to be in her own name, and another she is writing under her pseudonym Robert Galbraith.
While she is frequently asked when the next book will be due out, this time when she was asked on Twitter, the international bestselling novelist replied: “I’m working on it (literally).”
While she would give no further details about the books, plot or characaters, she did say that one would be written under her name and there would be a further one in the Robert Galbraith detective series. It seems as if she is writing both at the same time as she added: “One of each, but I’m not sure which will come out first. I’ll let you know as soon as I do.”
The author has already had an incredible year, with the release of the Harry Potter spinoff movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Not only that, but Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opened in the West End to rave reviews.
However, Ms Rowling has not released a novel since October 2015, when the third in the Cormoran Strike series can out. After she revealed that two more would be on the way, likely to be in 2017, her fans were immediately pressing for further information.
A new Harry Potter?
However, while she confirmed what she will not be doing – namely writing any more books with New Scamander in – she refused to say what the books will feature. Rumours have immediately started that one of the new books will feature Harry Potter.
The novelist has, however, struggled to leave her most famous character behid. The two-part Cursed Child play features Harry’s son Albus, and the author described it as the eighth Harry Potter.
It seems she is working all hours to finished one, or both novels. She also told fans that she had been writing since just before 6am, after getting up and taking her laptop back to bed with her.
