Twisted brother of former MPs wife Karen Danczuk is jailed for raping her

She shot into the public eye as the selfie loving wife of MP Simon Danczuk. But, Karen Dunczuk’s confident persona hid a historic heartbreak. Now, the rapist brother of the reality star, who is now separated from her husband, has been jailed for 15 years for carrying out sex attacks on his sister and two other victims.

Ms Danczuk bravely waved her right to anonymity to open up about the ordeal paedophile Michael Burke, 38, had put her through as a child. The sick child abuser began molesting his younger sister when she was only nine.

At first, the abuse started with touching which was inappropriate, but it escalated into a series of rapes at the family home in Greater Manchester.

Sentencing Burke, Judge Andrew Gilbart told him that he had carried out actions which had effected his sister well into her adulthood. Instead of looking back on her first sexual experience with fond memories, she had the memory of being raped by her own brother before she had even reached puberty.

No winners

After the sentencing, Ms Danczuk praised the police officers who had helped bring Burke to justice on behalf of her and two other victims. She said while there were no winners, she felt her healing could start now and that she could reach closure.

She has previously revealed that she thought about killing herself because of the abuse. Burke was found guilty of eight rapes of three victims between 1992 and 2010.

Ms Dancsuk told the jury that his campaign of abuse began when he would tickle her inappropriately during games of hide and seek. But then he began creeping into her room and masturbating before the abuse finally turned to rape. The abuse finally stopped when she plucked up the courage to confront him about what he was doing, as they were washing dishes together at their family home.
