These Xiaomi Handsets Will Originally Receive MIUI 9 In India

Xiaomi has just rolled out in India its MIUI 9 Global ROM. The UI was declared for users in India next to the Redmi Y1 Lite and the Redmi Y1. The new UI has tons of features, some of which were explained during the event. It also has some India-centric aspects.

At the event, it was cited that MIUI 9 is well-matched with mass of Xiaomi handsets. On the other hand, starting this week 3 handsets that will be receiving the stable MIUI 9 ROM are Mi Max 2, Redmi Note 4, and the lately rolled out Xiaomi Mix 2. The firm claimed that MIUI 9 is well-matched with Xiaomi handsets going as far as those launched in 2012. This indicates that Xiaomi Mi 2 will also be receiving the latest UI ultimately.

For those who are not unaware, the MIUI 9 comes with features such as built-in Image Search, Smart Assistant of Xiaomi, and a new file network amongst other features. On the basis of Android 7.0 Nougat, the Smart Assistant of the new user interface allows you search for pictures in the gallery on the basis of locations and names, something analogous to what Google has for the app of Photos. The UI also comprises a Smart App Launcher, which can unlock apps that operate on the contents on the display. MIUI 9 was rolled out this year in July in China at the side of the Mi 5X.

There are some India-centric customizations too. The new UI now displays text messages for a verity of things such as railway bookings in an enhanced layout, coming into view in a design of card style. The texts also consist of actions buttons to receive more data. The Calendar will also display major holidays of India.

On a similar note, Xiaomi rolled out its new handset range in India, the Redmi Y1 Lite and the Redmi Y1. The 3 GB + 32 GB version of Redmi Y1 has a price tag of Rs 8,999. The 4 GB + 64 GB version has a price tag of Rs 10,999. The Redmi Y1 Lite has price tag of Rs 6,999.
