Please come forward: Missing Ben Needham’s mother’s emotional plea

The desperate mother of missing Ben Needham has issued a heartfelt plea for anyone who knows what happened to her son to listen to their conscience and come forward. Ben was only 21 months old when is disappeared from the Greek Island of Kos 25 years ago.

His heartbroken family are still desperate to find out what happened to him. In a messge posted to social media, Ben’s mother Kerry Needham, who has never given up the search, asked anyone who knows what happened to finally come forward.

She said: “You may think you can hide in the dark forever. No one can hide from their conscience. Someone, somewhere, knows something.” The family has already spoken about how difficult 2016 has been, thanking supports for their help in getting them through it.

Sweeping searches

Last year, detectives carried out extensive searches in the area where Ben disappeared, after receiving new information. They found a toy car which once belonged to the little boy, which was handed over to his mother. Detective Inspector John Cousins has now said that the most likely scenario is that Ben was killed in an accident involving a digger close to the farmhouse where he was staying with his grandparents, while his mother was at work on the island.

Talking about the discovery, the detective said that Ben had been playing with the car when he vanished. He added: “Kerry was able to confirm this. It was an emotional time for all of us.”

Kerry said following the end of the search that she hoped Greek digger driver Konstantinos Barkas, who has since died, was “burning in hell” for what it is believed he has done. The driver, also known as Dino, was busy clearing land using an excavator close to the spot where Ben could have been playing.
